Chief Executive Officer (CEO)

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) is responsible for the overall strategic direction, leadership, and governance of the International Carbon Registry (ICR). The CEO leads the development, management, and operation of the ICR program and registry, ensuring that the organization fulfills its mission while maintaining high standards of environmental integrity, transparency, and operational reliability.

Strategic Vision and Leadership Sets the long-term strategic vision for the ICR, ensuring alignment with evolving carbon markets, sustainability objectives, and stakeholder needs. Provides leadership and direction to the organization to achieve its mission and strategic goals.

Program Governance and Oversight Leads the development, management, and continuous improvement of the ICR program, ensuring that program rules, procedures, and governance structures support the integrity and credibility of climate mitigation outcomes recognized under the program.

Registry Operations Oversight Maintains overall responsibility for the operation and reliability of the ICR registry, ensuring that registry systems and processes function effectively to support project registration, issuance, transfer, cancellation, and retirement of carbon credits.

Stakeholder Engagement Engages with key stakeholders including investors, partners, project proponents, developers, validation and verification bodies, governmental institutions, and environmental organizations. Develops and maintains strategic relationships that strengthen the credibility, adoption, and influence of the ICR program.

Standards and Regulatory Compliance Ensures that the ICR program and registry operate in accordance with applicable standards and requirements, including ISO 14064-2 and other relevant environmental and quality management standards. Oversees the implementation and maintenance of systems that ensure continuous compliance.

Program Integrity and Transparency Safeguards the integrity, transparency, and credibility of the ICR program and registry. Ensures that carbon credit issuance, tracking, and transactions are conducted with accuracy, reliability, and adherence to high environmental and ethical standards.

Validation and Verification Body Oversight Oversees the engagement and performance of Validation and Verification Bodies (VVBs), ensuring that validation and verification activities are conducted in accordance with applicable standards and ICR program requirements.

Quality Management System Oversight Establishes and oversees the implementation and maintenance of the Quality Management System (QMS) in accordance with ISO 9001 principles. Ensures that quality management practices are integrated across all operational processes, including project review, validation, verification, and credit issuance.
