# Application for VVBs

Organizations that wish to perform validation and verification activities under the International Carbon Registry (ICR) program must apply to become an **Approved Validation and Verification Body (VVB)**.

Approved VVBs are independent third-party organizations authorized to conduct validation and verification of greenhouse gas (GHG) statements for climate projects registered under the ICR program. These activities are conducted in accordance with applicable ICR program requirements and internationally recognized standards, including **ISO 14064-2**, **ISO 14064-3**, **ISO 14065**, and **ISO 14066**.

Only VVBs that have completed the ICR approval process and signed a **VVB Agreement with ICR** are authorized to conduct validation and verification activities under the ICR program

Applications follow [section 12.1 ](https://documentation.carbonregistry.com/documentation/icr-program/project-development/procedural/icr-process-requirements-v6.2#id-12.1-approval-process)of the ICR process requirements.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://documentation.carbonregistry.com/documentation/icr-program/validation-and-verification/approved-validation-and-verification-bodies-vvbs/application-for-vvbs.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
