βοΈValidation report (ValR)
A validation report is a document that validates that a proposed project conforms with the ICR requirement document and the ISO 14064-2.
The validation report includes an assessment of the proposed project design (PDD), including an assessment of the project's baseline and estimation of the expected greenhouse gas (GHG) emission reductions or removals. The report also assesses other aspects of the PDD such as the risk management plan, including a review of the environmental, social, and economic impacts of the project.
The validation report is prepared by an accredited validation and verification body who assesses the project against the criteria. The report is then submitted to the proponent and the ICR for demonstrating the eligibility for registration and issuance of carbon credits ex-ante (with limitations).
The validation report provides assurance that projects that generate carbon credits are in compliance with the necessary requirements.
