### Summary:

M-ICR005 provides criteria and procedures for quantifying GHG emission reductions from diverting eligible unsold goods and organic waste from final disposal. Eligible project activities include diversion of unsold usable goods to commercialization or donation, and diversion of eligible organic waste to animal feeding, with or without prior processing.

The baseline scenario is final disposal of the eligible materials in a solid waste disposal site or through incineration. The project scenario avoids or reduces these emissions by redirecting the materials to productive use. The methodology includes procedures for baseline determination, additionality, project boundary, baseline and project emissions, leakage, monitoring, end-use evidence, and calculation of net GHG emission reductions.

Version 3.1 incorporates updates following ICR review and validation, including application of A6.4-AMT-003 for emissions from solid waste disposal sites and A6.4-AMT-007 for emissions from electricity generation and consumption, together with strengthened provisions for baseline allocation, leakage, monitoring, parameter classification and double-claiming controls.

The methodology started the ICR methodology approval process as an earlier version and has since been updated following public consultation, ICR review, methodology revisions, validation, and further technical review by the VVB. The current version under development is M-ICR005 v3.1.
