# Monitoring Report (MR)

A monitoring Report (MR) is a document that outlines the results of monitoring and measuring greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions reductions or removals from a specific project. The report is used to verify that the project or program is achieving the expected emission reductions or removals stated in the PDD.

The monitoring report typically includes data on the quantity and type of emissions or removals, as well as information on criteria and procedures, the methodologies, and assumptions used in the monitoring process. The report may also include a summary of any issues or challenges encountered during the monitoring process, as well as any actions taken to address them.

The monitoring report is typically prepared by the proponent and assessed by a validation and verification body that assesses the data and ensures that the project is in compliance with the requirements of the ICR requirements, ISO 14064-2 and the PDD. The MR is then submitted to the ICR along with the VerR, and provides the foundation for issuing carbon credits Ex-post based on the results.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://documentation.carbonregistry.com/documentation/icr-program/project-development/templates/monitoring-report-mr.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
