A validation and verification report is a document that validates that a project and impacts for a defined monitoring period conforms to the ICR program requirements .
The report includes an assessment of the proposed project activities, including an assessment of the project's baseline and estimation of the expected greenhouse gas (GHG) emission mitigations. The report also assesses other aspects of the project, such as the monitoring plan, quantification criteria, and procedures. It also includes an assessment of the impacts, including an assessment of the quantification of the greenhouse gas (GHG) emission reductions or removals for a monitoring period. The report also assesses other aspects of the project implementation, monitoring , quantification, and adherance to prescribed procedures.
The validation and verification report is prepared by an accredited validation and verification body that assesses the project and GHG emission mitigations against the criteria.
The report provides assurance that projects generating carbon credits will conform to the said criteria and assurance that projects impacts and issued carbon credits are real for the monitoring period.
