A methodology validation report is a document that validates that a methodology conforms to the ICR methodology requirements.
The validation report includes an assessment of the proposed methodology, including an assessment of the project's baseline and estimation of the expected greenhouse gas (GHG) emission reductions or removals. The report also assesses other aspects of the methodology, such as the applicability conditions, monitoring plan, quantification criteria, and procedures.
The methodology validation report is prepared by an accredited validation and verification body that assesses the methodology against the criteria.
The validation report provides assurance that projects applying the methodology generating carbon credits will conform to the said criteria.
